About Aaron Winters
Before receiving his Juris Doctor from Belmont University College of Law, Aaron attended Miami University (Ohio) in Oxford, Ohio and Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Prior to practicing law, Aaron toured the world as a recording artist, writing and producing four studio albums under two record labels, and performing at such music festivals as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Hangout Music Fest, Wakarusa, the Rock Boat, and CMJ Fest. Aaron’s songs have been featured in various motion pictures, television shows, and soundtracks, and have garnered praise from such news outlets as SPIN Magazine, TBS Weekend Extra, American Songwriter Magazine, and the Tennessean. As a result, Aaron maintains a keen understanding of entertainment law as it intersects with Tennessee estate planning and probate administration.
Before joining Martin Heller Potempa & Sheppard, PLLC, Aaron practiced commercial litigation at a boutique firm in downtown Nashville, Tennessee where Aaron gained experience litigating entertainment issues and contract disputes for individuals and corporate plaintiffs alike.
Aaron is a member of the Tennessee Supreme Court, the American Bar Association (ABA), the Nashville Bar Association (NBA), Trout Unlimited (TU), and the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust (BTT). Aaron has been admitted to practice before the Tennessee Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Aaron specializes in probate litigation, including, but not limited to, breaches of fiduciary duty, will contests, partition actions, interpleaders, declaratory actions, and general estate administration. Aaron also administers a large portion of the firm’s conservatorships and guardianships.
When not working, Aaron enjoys spending time with his daughter, Romy, making art, fly fishing, following Nashville SC, and spending time outdoors.
