Kate Nyquist
Associate Attorney
Kate Nyquist is a native Nashvillian. She received her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston in South Carolina in 2008. Before becoming an attorney, Kate worked as a victim advocate in both South Carolina and Texas, serving adults and children affected by domestic violence and child abuse.
In 2016, Kate returned to Nashville to pursue a new professional path in law, attending Nashville School of Law. During law school and after becoming licensed, she worked as a title attorney at Rudy Title & Escrow, where she assisted clients with residential and commercial real estate transactions, land development, and title clearance throughout Tennessee.
Kate joined Martin Heller Potempa & Sheppard in 2022 and brings her background in advocacy, client service, and real estate law to her practice in estate and trust administration, guardianships, and conservatorships. She is particularly passionate about helping clients navigate complex and often deeply personal legal matters with compassion and attention to detail.
Kate and her husband, Darius, reside in West Nashville with their young son and dog. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, exploring new places, playing tennis, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends.
