Scott Pilkinton joined Martin Heller Potempa & Sheppard PLLC in December
of 2021 following nearly eight years as Staff Attorney and Special Master for
Judge Randy Kennedy of the Seventh Circuit Court of the Twentieth Judicial
District (Nashville/Davidson County).

As Special Master, Pilkinton ruled on over four thousand cases on the Probate
Rocket Docket, and as Staff Attorney he briefed Judge Kennedy on over
sixteen thousand hearings in probate, conservatorships, trusts, and a variety
of other legal actions. He also created annual legislative updates to hand out
to attorneys in court and developed multiple continuing legal education
materials.

The lifelong Nashvillian prepped at Brentwood Academy and graduated from
Vanderbilt University and pursued a non-law career for several years,
particularly sports. He joined the Vanderbilt University athletic department,
where he worked in media relations and ticketing. After a later, brief stint at
the Nashville Sports Council, Pilkinton became one of the first employees of
the Nashville Predators hockey club where he organized, managed, and
edited the team’s internet presence. Seven seasons later he joined an
Acxiom office in Nashville and served as sole account manager for client
Madison Square Garden, aiding electronic marketing efforts for the arena
and its various subsidiaries such as the New York Knicks, New York Rangers,
and Radio City Music Hall, among others.

But the law was calling, and Pilkinton entered Nashville School of Law, where
he earned the school’s Founders’ Award for finishing at the top of his class.
Scott is thrilled to be part of this growing and vibrant firm.
